The upcoming Presidential election is polarizing the genders as men fight for their right to control their reproductive rights, and for the right to vote in federal and local elections. John Barringer lives a content life as a househusband while his wife, Jane, works towards her goals. Raising their two children, Jane and John have a happy home life. Jane, like all women, is the main breadwinner and is up for a promotion in her advertising firm. John, isn't one to rock the boat, and accepts his role in life with no argument. Until one day when a someone whispers in John's ear: "It wasn't always like this." Now, John is torn between maintaining the status quo, or joining in the fight for the rights of men everywhere.

This story was written by R.L. Stark 32 years ago, while he was an honors student of English Lit. at University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS. At the time, he lived only a few blocks from William Burroughs, a truly masterful writer indeed. Mary K.
