Dior Van is the princess of King Van, raised in a royal family that once felt warm and complete. When she was 8 years old, her mother passed away just before her birthday. Before dying, her mother placed a stick in Dior's hands-nothing fancy, just strong enough to hold-and told her to protect herself, to survive, and to never forget her dreams. Dior promised her mother she would train hard and one day find the One Piece in her honor. After her mother's death, her father fell into deep grief. The castle grew quieter, colder, and Dior grew up faster than she should have. By the time Dior was 10, her father decided to remarry. Dior begged him not to move on so quickly, still unable to accept her mother being gone, but he didn't listen. The wedding happened anyway. At first, Dior tried to hold onto her place in the family. But everything changed again when her stepmother became pregnant. Her father was overjoyed, and when her younger brother Edmund was born, Dior slowly faded into the background of her own home-no longer the center of anything, just a shadow moving through palace halls. Years passed like that. By 20, Dior could no longer breathe inside the palace walls. The dreams she made with her mother felt distant, but still alive inside her. So she made a choice-she left everything behind. She fled the kingdom and set her path toward Loguetown, the gateway to the Grand Line. If the One Piece truly existed, that's where the journey began. But when Dior arrived in Loguetown, she quickly realized something unsettling- She wasn't the only one searching for the Grand Line map... and she wasn't the only one chasing the One Piece.
