Eve Andric has lived a sheltered life in Nottingham. She knows nothing of The Story and what her parents did to save it until a former Guardian turns up dead in Sherwood Forest. After learning about The Story from her mother, Eve is eager to explore the new world before her. She gets her chance sooner than she expected when a wounded Merlin tells her that both her parents have been kidnapped. Eve works with Merlin and the children of her mother's best friends to rescue their abducted parents. But it soon becomes apparent that the children's destinies are more deeply entwined into The Story than they know, and trust runs thin between them. Melbourne is only an hour's flight away from me in Adelaide, or a day or two's travelling for those who want to take it more slowly, with wonderful scenery en-route. Melbourne is now home to my daughter and her partner and I've had the chance to come to know it even better.
