The beginning of the end started with a smile. ~~~~~ A story in which Gray falls in love with a smile, and is ultimately lead to the end. (this is GrayLu, but Juvia will not be a villain in this. I love Juvia as a character and as a concept, just not with Gray. I feel as though there's so much for her to offer, and that gets lost in the attraction she holds for him. Please enjoy)

A tiresome poem/letter to someone's crush

Introduction to Readers This 2,000-word excerpt from my sci-fi novel spans the second half of Chapter 1 and the first half of Chapter 2, set in a dynamic university. Larja, an astrophysicist professor, and Sarah, his PhD student and assistant, head from a lecture hall to Merian's office, where another professor supervises Sarah's thesis. Their interactions hint at cosmic stakes, but I'm seeking feedback on prose and language, how they flow, and whether they are natural and smooth.
