He does not want to lose Tony,his one and only best friend. Tony survives and reassures him that he didn't lose him,that he was still alive and that he would be okay after he makes his recovery. Riff confided his feelings to Tony about the exact moment that he was certain he would lose him. He was definitely thinking about how close he came to losing his best friend in the whole world. Tony does his best to reassure Riff that even though it was a close call,that he didn't lose him.

But just before the end of the Rumble,her boyfriend,the love of her life was dead. She remembers being told that Riff had not made it out of the Rumble to return home with her. Riff's gone and Graziella is devastated beyond repair and nothing can fix her broken heart. Having Riff return home to her would. She finds a letter addressed to her from Riff.

He races to find Tony and finds him begging for Chino to come and get him too. He almost loses his best friend. Tony consoles his best friend after knowing that Riff had come close to losing him. He knew how hard it must have been to know he came so close to losing his one and only best friend. Riff is having trouble coming to terms with the fact that he had almost lost his best friend Tony.

As she try's to avoid and ignore him, it gets harder and harder whenever they meet with each other. An American and a Puerto Rican together is almost forbidden in their scenario, but sometimes bad things are just too good not to have. I'm not fluent in spanish so i'm relying on google translate! It was because of the lie that she had told Valentina to tell him immediately after what the Jets had done to Anita. But she could not really help but tell that lie about Maria,she had been ambushed by the Jets in a way that had upset her greatly so she had lied. Now she regrets doing that because it cost her best friend the love of her life. If only she had not told that lie,she wishes she could somehow be able to take it back.
