A short story

This is a quickly thrown together concept for a story set in a fantasy Great War. The story follows a group of shock troopers as they undertake a trench raid. Its very rushed, but as I said it's just a concept for now.

April 12, 1919 I am to embark on my journey to America, early in the morning, 5:35 in the morning to be exact. I will be leaving the Dayton family here in Liverpool to service a wealthy American family in Scarborough, Maine. I will be lodging with the Thomason family, specifically, giving care to their seventeen year old son, Victor Thomason. I am fortunate that we have age in common, perhaps we will get along as I have with my old employers. I have been told that the young Mister Thomason suffers from sickness, wounds and shell shock from The Great War. I am looking forward to working there.

A soldier boy from England meets an American Pianist during WWI. This is the story of Adler and Eileen. This story is told from Eileen's POV to her daughter. So it switches from Eileen's storytelling to the actual events. There will also be little events within Eileen's daughter's life.
