The Great War. "The war that will end war," said H.G. Wells. We know it better as World War I. The outbreak of the first Balkan War between the Ottoman Empire and the Balkan League as well as the Moroccan Crisis in the earlier years of 1905 and 1906 left Europe in high tensions. With the conclusion of the Italo-Turkish War in 1912 and the second Balkan War in 1913, it seemed as only one spark would be all that is needed for Europe to plunge into war.
