This short story continues the story of Shirley Manning the orphaned daughter of Jack Manning (the tramp who challenged the whole congregation of the First Church of Raymond to "Follow in Jesus' steps and do nothing without first asking 'What would Jesus do?'" and then collapsed and eventually died of pneumonia). The book only mentions her once and after being motivated by a school project I was inspired to write this continuation of her life.
