After her oldest brother was killed during the Ravkan Civil War, and she was presumed to have died with him, Ariana Lantsov was given the chance to start over. Forsaking Nikolai, with whom her relationship had fractured over time, and forsaking Ravka as a whole, she traveled to Ketterdam looking for a fresh start. She was immediately kidnapped and forced into servitude by Pekka Rollins, the King of the Barrel. When she finally managed to escape, with the help of the notorious Kaz Brekker, she joined the Dregs and vowed to help Brekker bring Rollins down, no matter what it took. Nearly three years later, every gang member the Barrel knew her as Kaz Brekker's right hand, who, unlike the Wraith, didn't hide in the shadows. When she came for you, you would know it. Aryn Adjala. when inej first started rescuing enslaved people on ships,she used to find many young girls.they would usually be reunited with thier families,but myra is an orphan who is only 4.with a rough past with men,when she is adopted by jesper and wylan,the first week is rough but she soon warms up to them and they become a big happy family,with a milo dupe of course.

When Lilis was 14 she watched her family get murdered. Devastated by the destruction of her once perfect life, Lilis leaves her home. Desperate to get away from a place full of memories, Lilis travels far away, with the intention of getting as far from East Ravka as possible. Her plan gets ruined when she gets captured by Druskelle and placed on a slave boat. There, she meets Nina Zenik, a grisha Heartrender. Together they escape with the help of a fjerdan called Matthias. The trio meets Kaz Brekker and his crows and they band together to swipe a Sun Summoner.

Jesper always called Wylan his Star because that's exactly what Wylan was a star kept hidden away for most of his life by his father until Kaz found him. A week after returning to Ketterdam and Jesper is preparing to Marry Wylan the love of his life, and with Wylan's father gone the manor becomes Wylan's. On their wedding day Jesper and Wylan made a promise that they would tell each-other everything, and for Jesper that meant telling Wylan about Dima the stable- boy he'd once loved.
