Inej Ghafa would be an acrobat, traveling Ravka, with a love for the high wire. She'd be visiting Ketterdam with her parents as a way to escape the war. Jesper Fahey would be a university student, smart enough to know he'd get addicted to West Stave if he ever went, and whom no one ever wants to play darts with. Nina Zenik would be a Grisha heartrender, a valued part of the second army, sent out of Ravka to recruit Grisha for the war effort. Matthias Helvar would be a Druskelle, searching Ravka for Grisha, and accidentally getting himself into something way beyond his paygrade. Wylan Van Eck would be the only heir to the Van Eck fortune, his dyslexia never holding him back- because his father can accept who he is: one of the most talented musicians in all Ketterdam. But you can't really have all that without trading it for something else, can you? Because these crows need to save the world from Jurda Parem just as much as the originals did, without their learned skills to aid them. By chance or by luck, they become a crew, stealing Kuwei-Yul-Bo and his father from Fjerda together.
