Because of how different she is her parents are disappointed in her and seem to only care about Addison. The two girls both have white hair which makes them different. Their parents made them wear blond wigs to hide their true hair but being yeh already different and determined person Melody was she told her parents straight up she didn't want to hide her true hair anymore and stopped wearing her wig at age 8. Sure she was an outcast but no one dared to double cross her and she gained a pretty wicked reputation. Read as Melody, her sister Addison, and their friends- zombie and human.
