Nalu is the youngest professional female surfer in the world. At the mere age of 13 she won more surfing competitions than most surfers. When she goes to California to compete in the U.S. Open of Surfing, she decides to arrive two weeks early to be able to watch the X Games. That was one of the best decisions she ever made...

Once a year TRASK industries holds an annual X Games where mutants of any age are Reaped no matter what gender and go into an arena to fight to the death. Competing at the Winter X Games is one thing, but getting stuck in a snowstorm is another.

After following into his father's footsteps as a NASCAR driver, Mac Harris longs for something else; similar to racing, but something a little bit different. His brother (being a mechanic) feels under-appreciated by both him and their father, putting the two in a rocky relationship. After going to an X Games show, Mac meets a daredevil named Trent Kramer and is taken under the latter's wing. On that note, he meets Kramer's crew, one of which is a Japanese American named Yuki. But unlike the other crew members, she doesn't give him the welcome wagon. And it's not because she's resentful, it's because she knows that the system is morally grey.
