The world is divided into two. Hiders, always running, and Seekers, always hunting. Born from a family of Seekers, Amethyst Layne Wilson is chosen as a Hider, and has to turn from her own family just so she can survive them. But there is hope for the Hiders, for there is a sanctuary far beyond the city limits, a secret place only Hiders know about. And Amethyst makes it her mission to get her generation of Hiders to it.
