The Winter Rose Festival was supposed to be beautiful. The snow was supposed to be silent. The past was supposed to stay buried. Blackthorn Falls looked like a postcard covered in white until the cracks started showing. Until old secrets resurfaced. Until everyone realized the town was hiding something beneath the perfect winter scenery. Five years ago, a tragedy changed everything. The kind of event people whispered about but never discussed. The kind that left behind unanswered questions, broken friendships, and memories that refused to disappear. Everyone thought they had moved on. They were wrong. When a new nightmare returns to Blackthorn Falls, the past begins pulling people back into the darkness they tried to escape. A masked figure appears. A warning is left behind. And suddenly, no one knows who they can trust. Because the killer knows more than they should. They know the secrets people buried. The lies they told. The things they wish they could forget. As winter takes hold, friendships begin to fracture, trust disappears, and the line between victim and survivor starts to blur. For a twenty-one-year-old journalism student who has spent years watching from the sidelines, uncovering the truth becomes more than a story. It becomes survival. She wasn't looking for danger. She wasn't looking for answers. She was simply searching for the truth in a town where everyone had something to hide. But some mysteries refuse to stay buried. And some winters never truly end. The snow is falling. The roses are blooming. And Blackthorn Falls is about to reveal what it has been hiding.

For siblings Alex and Maya, it was supposed to be a simple road trip to their grandparents' house-one last taste of freedom for Alex before university, one last boring car ride for Maya. But when their car dies on a lonely, forgotten B-road with no phone signal, their journey takes a terrifying detour. Their only hope is a quaint village on an old wooden sign: Havenwood. At first, it seems like a miracle-a picture-perfect town of cobblestone streets and friendly, welcoming locals, a peaceful haven untouched by the modern world. But the perfection is a mask. The welcome is a little too wide, the smiles a little too fixed. And the entire valley is shrouded in an unnatural, deathly silence. Their attempts to leave are futile. Every road out of Havenwood mysteriously loops back to the town square, a disorienting, impossible trap. With no way to contact the outside world, a chilling realization dawns: their breakdown wasn't an accident, it was an invitation. The townspeople are not hosts; they are keepers. And they have a simple, terrifying message: once you arrive in Havenwood, you are welcome to stay. Forever. The true horror of Havenwood isn't its roads, but its insidious influence. The town has a way of making you forget-your home, your memories, the person you used to be. As Alex finds himself seduced by the town's placid, stress-free existence, his own identity beginning to fray, it falls to Maya to be the anchor for their past. She must fight against a creeping mental fog that threatens to erase them completely and turn them into another pair of smiling, empty-eyed residents. To escape, they must uncover the ancient secret at the heart of the town's idyllic facade. But how do you escape a prison that convinces you it's a paradise? And if they manage to break free, what parts of themselves will they be forced to leave behind?

✨COMPLETED✨ WRITTEN BY KIT WALKER The Candy Shop on Fifth Street was an off-limits destination for every kid in town, and everyone knew this, too. But this didn't explain why children seemed so dead set on going to that Candy Shop. It also didn't explain why no one saw them again. Or why suspiciously timed candy bar releases occurred only days after a child disappeared. It wasn't until Carolina Jones went missing that someone decided that enough was enough. The only issue? A twelve-year-old girl, her seventeen-year-old brother, and her brother's fifteen-year-old best friend are the ones that decide that something must be done. Stick around to see what happens when the uncoordinated and constantly bickering trio of Marley, Jonathan, and Emma set out to battle the evil Candy Shop owner. Will they be the next candy released? Or will Emma kill Jonathan and Marley out of annoyance before the Candy Store owner even has a chance to?
