This story is based on the show Yeh hai mohabbatein. The story starts from the beginning of the show when Raman and Ishita were getting married amidst all the custody battle and their differences but destiny has its own plan. To know more about it please read the story ahead.

Four separate souls -- Raman, Ishita, Ruhi, and Adi -- in four separate cities; but somehow CONNECTED. How? Read to find out.... Ishita Iyer has been dreaming of a life as a dentist, wife, and mother, but destiny plays a cruel joke on her, as her dreams are shattered by her fiancé Subbu right before their engagement. She moves to Delhi with her family, searching for the remedy of her broken heart, only to find happiness in the most unexpected place. Raman Bhalla was a blessed son, brother, husband, and father, only to have his world destroyed by his wife Shagun after five long years of marriage. Cursed with a scorched soul and burned by the weakness called love, he flees from Delhi, only to find peace and joy in the very place he left behind. Disclaimer: This is my retelling of the iconic show "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein." I am a huge fan of the initial 1.5-2 years which were telecast at 11 pm. Those initial days of YHM are the inspiration for my story. I attempt to close loopholes and expand on relationships and character conflicts that were insufficiently addressed on the show (in my opinion). The characters here are all the same as in the original show. The only difference is that Simi's husband and Ananya's father is a guy named Pulkit. Both Simi and Pulkit are good people and happily married. Param is not a character in this story. If you are unfamiliar with the original characters, please refer to the family trees added with the trailer. Although the story and premise is different, I will be recreating certain tracks that could have gone better in my opinion (Ishita's infertility; custody trial of both Ruhi and Adi; Mani's entry and Raman's jealousy; Ishita's insecurities regarding Shagun; IshRa pregnancy track and Pihu's birth). "Mummyji." Ishita softly called her mother-in-law mixing the wheat dough. "Haa, puttar bol." Toshiji replied peeling the boiled potatoes. "Bachpanme, Raman aapko leke bohot possessive honge na?" She casually added. (Raman might have been very possessive about in childhood, no?) "Nahi toh. Raman toh bohot understanding raha hai hamesha se." Toshiji chuckled "Haa apni dadise chipke reheta tha but bohot caring raha hai hamesha se. Books, games, pocket money sab kuch share karta tha Simmi aur Romi se. Haa Romi bohot rota tha jab koi Rinki ko thoda bohot bhi attention dedata." (Nope. He has been quite understanding. Yes he was clingy with his grandmother. But he used to share his books, games even pocket money with his siblings. Romi was a attetion seeker though.) "Really?" Ishita asked in disbelief. "Hmmm. Tera Raman bohot acha hai." Toshiji winked making her blush. (Hmmm. Your Raman is very nice.) "Kya Mummyji aap bhi." Toshiji laughed at her daughter-in-law reaction. (Mummyji, not you too.) Ishita covered the dough with a plate, wondering about the change in Raman's personality. As with her Raman is anything but Understanding. He is clingy, demanding and possessive as hell. Ishita pouted remembering how he didn't even let her stay at her parent's house. His excuses always ready before she even makes plan to visit her parents. How he tore that beautiful red dress because 3rd quarter was too short according to him. How he fired his employee because 2 second was too much to stare his wife. How ... "Ishita" Sighed as his voice echoed in whole house. It's been a while since I have penned something since the show hasn't been very inspiring lately. However I couldn't help but write down something after watching the rain scene last week, I don't know how they do it but Divyanka and Karan breathe life into these characters as if they were written keeping them in mind. Such is the brilliance of their acting, you cannot imagine anyone else doing justice to Ishita and Raman ever. Prior to this show I had seen a little of Divyanka and not even one of Karan' show and I don't know how in the future I would watch them with other people because what they have is perfection in one word. This two-shot is my way of thanking them for the brilliance of their acting, since it's the only good thing about this show right now, not the writing, the direction or the story-telling, nothing but their talent is keeping this one going and I hope for them that they get something worthy of their talents. In addition, this piece is quite important to me, since with it I am really pushing the envelope and breaking my boundaries, I don't do graphic stuff, but this one just demanded it. I would like to thank one of my dearest friends of this forum Swathi for being there for me for this one. A story of two lovers who are separated by distance but not by heart.

I want there to be some sort of movement in this relationship that rattles Raman. He is about to blackmail his wife tonight after lying to her, he repeatedly confesses he loves her and then acts like a jerk which I am not a fan of however much I may love him, so riding on that thought this comes to me. This OS is set somewhat in the future where Ishita has been given a clean chit regarding the false accusation levied against her in the consumer forum and with that tension done away, the repercussions of the bachelor party finally hit home in the Bhalla-Iyer clan. NOT PROOFREAD. Disenchanted: disappointed by someone or something previously respected or admired; disillusioned.

Raman and Shagun are married out of compulsions where there's no love between their marriage. On the other side, Ishita having her sister Mihika as her only family, is worried about her health as Mihika's both kidneys have stopped working due to which she goes for dialysis ever 2 to 3 days a week and is in need of money. When Ishita joins Shagun's office, she hires her as their surrogate mother by which she's shocked along with Raman but she agrees for the sake of her sister.
