Almost all of these colors flowed past me as I plummeted downward. If your anything like me, you've memorized the entire color pallet. Which ones are bright, which ones are dark. If your anything like me, you can name them by sight. If your anything like me you would recognize that all the colors I just listed are the colors of my life. All of them are dark or violent. All of them are chaotic. Except one. That fifth color: Yellow. That color, the only thing worth living for, is my dad. As I plummet downward I notice the colors, one of them is missing: Yellow. All the colors are dark and dreary. My one bright hope- my one yellow- was taken away from me. Little did I know that I, one full of dark colors, could give others luminous days. I just had to release my heart and realize it. Then that yellow would return, and bring light into a world of dark colors... It would return in a world of many colors.

This publication contains my shortened qualification paper for a Bachelor's degree in the last module of my specialization area, linguistics, on the origin and history of Yiddish as well as my Bachelor's thesis comparing the social prestige of Yiddish and Hebrew. Both were graded as "very good". I thought it might be of interest to some or be useful as a starting point for other students.
