Like a Harbinger these officers utilize inner reiki but unlike them, who use old fashion weaponry and bound entities, they've taken a more modern approach to killing spirit, shunning the ways of their counterparts who combat evil with evil. Nagaku, a thirteen year old boy and the son of a missing renowned Harbinger, is unable to use his inner reiki which alienates him from the other students at the Shibuya Harbinger academy. Having lost his mother shortly after his birth, the teen is raised by his Grandfather Tanzan, once a powerful Harbinger in his youthful days. After sensing that his former student, a rogue Harbinger, would attempt to unseal the spirit of Yamato no Orochi, old Tanzan deliberately binds the ancient Yokai of legend to his grandson. This precedence sets off a chain reaction in the realm of Yomi where the three leaders are devising a devious plan to eradicate the last Tennin.
