"Why?" Yoongi asked, voice small. Cracked.
Six heads turned.
"Why don't you guys love me?"
He wasn't crying yet. That would come after. This was worse. This was the moment before a bone breaks.
Jin moved first. A step forward. His face twisted-not with guilt. With inconvenience.
"Because we only love our girlfriends, Yoongi," he snapped. The name sounded like a curse in his mouth. "Not you. Why don't you understand that? Huh? How many times do we have to say it?"
The words were loud. Meant to hurt. Meant to end this.
Yoongi flinched. Full-body. Like he'd been struck.
Taehyung scoffed like Yoongi was being dramatic. Like he was the problem.
"Yes," Taehyung said. Cold. Deliberate. "We liked them from the beginning. We wanted to marry them. Not you. We never wanted you."
Never wanted you.
Yoongi's breath hitched. His hand went to his chest.
His eyes-God, his eyes-darted between all of them. Searching. Begging for one of them to say it's a joke. To take it back.
Nothing.
Just six sets of cold, angry eyes.
But none of them stopped it.
And that was the answer.
Yoongi's voice was a whisper now. A child asking why the sky fell.
"Then... then why did you guys marry me?"
The question hung there.
For three seconds. Five.
Long enough for hope to be a dangerous thing.
Jimin finally looked up. His jaw was tight. His eyes were wet-but not with sadness. With anger. At Yoongi. For making them do this. For making them say it out loud.
"Because of our parents," he bit out. Each word a stone. "Because they made us. Because we didn't have a choice."
Silence.
Thick. Ugly.
Yoongi stared at him.
Then at Jin.
At Taehyung.
At Jimin.
At J-Hope.
At Jungkook.
One by one.
Memorizing their faces.
The faces of the men who'd just told him his marriage was a lie.
His love was a burden.
His existence was an inconvenience.
