"Are you cold, Shua?" Jeonghan asked, his voice strained, hoarse. He had draped a blanket over Joshua, but his hand had lingered for a moment, sending an inferno through Joshua's skin. Joshua shook his head, clutching the blanket, which now felt like a suffocating weight. "No. I am... hot." The word was a gasp, an admission. He yearned for Jeonghan's touch, for his scent, for the solace only an Alpha could bring during this agonizing cycle. He was losing himself to the primal needs of his Omega. "Jeonghan," Joshua whispered, his voice barely audible, thick with desire. He dared to look up, his eyes, wide and luminous with unshed tears, meeting Jeonghan's. "I... I need..." He couldn't complete the sentence, the words too shameful, too demanding. Jeonghan's eyes were shadowed, filled with a profound despair. He knew what Joshua needed. He knew what his own Alpha demanded. He was struggling, fighting a battle that raged in his very bones. "Joshua, my love," he began, his voice rough with emotion. "I swore to myself I would never take advantage of you. Never force you into a position you did not choose freely. I am a gentleman, and you are... everything."

"Joshua," he murmured, his voice still rough, but infused with a new, raw emotion. "What have you done?" It wasn't an accusation, but a statement of bewildered wonder. Joshua stirred, lifting his head to meet Jeonghan's gaze. His eyes, though still heavy-lidded from passion, held that familiar, mischievous glint. "I believe, my dear Alpha," he whispered, his lips curving into a soft, triumphant smile, "I have merely coaxed you into admitting what you have always secretly desired. To be claimed, and to claim in return." He reached up, his slender fingers tracing the line of Jeonghan's jaw, a possessive gesture that sent a shiver down Jeonghan's spine. "The Rake, it seems, has finally been tamed. And by 'The Blossom,' no less. The irony is quite delicious, wouldn't you agree?" Jeonghan stared at him, a slow, incredulous smile spreading across his face. He had been played, manipulated, seduced with a cunning that entirely belied Joshua's innocent facade. And the most infuriating, exhilarating truth was, he wouldn't have had it any other way. He was completely, irrevocably, utterly gone. He pulled Joshua closer, pressing a soft kiss to his temple. "Indeed, Lord Hong. Utterly delicious."

Jisoo was the youngest of the princes of the Choi kingdom, his existence lived in anonymity, no one knew his face, however this young man took advantage of this to be Joshua in the eyes of society every time he managed to escape from the immense walls of the castle in which he was confined. On one of his secret journeys he fell in love with a professor with angelic features and for the first time he wanted to reveal his secret identity. Everything was not as easy as he supposed, but he was not willing to abandon that beautiful feeling that they had built between them.

"Jeonghan, my love, are you quite alright?" Joshua's voice was soft, laced with his characteristic concern. His vanilla scent, subtle and warm, permeated the breakfast nook. "You seem... particularly focused on my accessories this morning." Jeonghan chuckled, a warm sound that made Joshua's heart flutter. "Just admiring the fine craftsmanship, my dear. And perhaps wishing I could carry a piece of your elegance with me into the dreary halls of Parliament." He offered Joshua a charming, slightly mischievous smile, omitting the true, deeper reason. He wasn't ashamed, not really, but it felt intensely personal, a secret weapon only he knew about.

"Lord Hong," Jeonghan greeted, his voice smooth, a veiled barb in its politeness. "Nervous? One would almost think an Alpha of your caliber would be immune to such anxieties." Joshua forced a smile, his heart hammering. "Lord Yoon. The same could be said for you. Though I suspect your particular brand of anxiety is simply the fear of losing." He tried to project his usual crisp mint and pine, but it felt weak, thin. He suddenly felt exposed, raw.

No magic would fix what happened years ago, he thought he should keep his distance making sure that Jeonghan never knew the truth of his hidden tears. Proclaiming himself as someone who is difficult to love. His reflection tormented him. And he forced himself to hide his wounds, believing that this would protect his loved one from his harsh truth when in reality it drove him almost to madness. The one with angelic features did not care if he had to infest himself with each of the thorns with which the one with feline eyes protected himself in order to help repair his heart and heal the opposing wounds, wishing that Jisoo would share his pain even as his own. Prince Hong claimed to love him was hard.

Two alphas in love sounded to many like the biggest mistake, however the red thread tied to their little fingers ensured that falling in love did not seem like a crazy idea to Jeonghan and Joshua who experienced their love intensely. Everyone was talking and criticizing their relationship, calling it inappropriate but...What did they know?
