I figured it'd be best for Hikaru to have a little backstory for Yoshiki's character. REMINDER: This whole fanfic is focused solely on Yoshiki and his feelings. Yoshiki finally reveals his true feelings for his childhood friend, Hikaru. His emotional, romantic, and sexual feelings for Hikaru were all revealed on one day. He always saw Hikaru as a comfortable person to be with. He always thought about Hikaru as a person suitable to be in a relationship with. He always had thoughts about Hikaru almost every day. PAST: Yoshiki and Hikaru were always, and will continue to be, inseparable the second they met. But one thing always stuck with Yoshiki's mind, he liked Hikaru. Not as a friend, but as a boyfriend. He grew up in an anti-queer household and was always scared to come out, knowing his parents wouldn't love him if he did. Hikaru was always there for Yoshiki, even at the worse time of his life. Even though Hikaru is seen as "straight" by Yoshiki, something always flustered him. Hikaru always teased Yoshiki about kissing him and talked about how he loved Yoshiki. Despite this, Yoshiki always thought that Hikaru would never accept him, nor would he ever see him as more than a friend. Hikaru, on the other hand, sees Yoshiki as a caring person, although he's mentally struggling. He never saw someone so strong, and has always thought about being with Yoshiki. But one thing is, he doesn't know how to face his feelings, nor does he know what his orientation is. He took almost every test online, and all of them pointed out that he's homosexual. He doesn't believe this. He thinks he should date women instead of men because of the people around him. Yoshiki went missing. Which made, of course, his family and, importantly, his best friend Hikaru worried, but when they found him, something was off with Yoshiki.

"I'm just thinkin'." He hums. "About that?" 'Hikaru' gestures to the marks on his arm. "About how it makes me different." "Is that a bad thing?" __ OR: yoshiki's and 'hikaru's' life in Tokyo.

"I didn't need anyone to tell me if it was okay or not," the boy says. "He's the most important person to me, and I know that's all that matters." "It's different," Yoshiki mumbles, dropping his chin into his hand. "Hikaru ain't- I mean- it's just- he's... a monster." The boy eyes him, silent for a moment. He studies Yoshiki, but he's not judgmental, and it's weird, he thinks. Not being judged. "I was a monster, too," the boy eventually says. "He still loves me." __ OR: crossover moment!!! the jjk trio are sent to kubitachi on a mission to identify and monitor potential curse activity in the area. at the same time, yoshiki meets a couple of city folk who just might be able to change his entire life's perspective.

He's supposed to be smiling, right? His friend has come back. He's here, in this classroom, alive and smiling and seemingly healthy. He's the same height, has the same smile, the same voice, everything. And yet- And yet- __ OR: the day 'hikaru' comes back from the mountain
