When things deteriorated, I held on to the good times. Every time I walked in on him on top or below another woman, I reminded myself of when he was loyal -or seemed loyal. Whenever he hit me or hurt me physically, I reminded myself of when he was soft and gentle with me. Bringing myself to the reality that he is a monster and it was not love I was experiencing, was the hardest thing to do.
