I try not to look him in the eye. I always get lost in them everytime i do, so staring at his chest I muttered, "I'm just an ordinary average looking girl". I felt his hands on my face, then he tilted it so that my eyes met his. "so you keep saying, but I'm yet to see anything ordinary about you". I could read his intentions in the way his eyes seemed to darken and his pupils dilated. I have always resisted, but right now I can't remember why I was resisting something I want with my entire being. So as he slowly lowered his head, a sigh escaped my lips, my eyes slid shut as I tilted my face even more to meet him halfway.

A new outcast teenage boy who is 16 had just moved to California from Nebraska named Felix. He sees the worst in people that tragic story behind the human eye. He had never had friends and his family just stresses him out. In Denton High he meets a marvelous young lady who he doesn't realize he falls for. The Cross: A faction of people who worship God and all things good. The Darkened: People that are supposedly fallen from the light and are doomed to burn in Hell. The Order: An elusive faction of "heretics" that aim to bring down The Cross. In the Academy, there are children from all ages. This boarding school teaches the children the way of the light and to follow God. But when a Darkened gets into the school grounds and turns a high school level student, Iris Styles, into one of their own, the school seems more like a prison, the teachers more like jailers, and the students more like prisoners. Iris must hide her new identity from everyone, even her friends, or she may be hunted by The Cross. And when you're hunted by The Cross...... It won't end well.....
