It's the year of '62 and Ruth Smalls life changed. It all started when she moved from New York to San Fernando Valley. Not only did she have to move, but her dad (Bill) just got remarried after her mom left her. With only two weeks left until summer break, which means she and her new step brother Scotty had to make friends and quick. Being named after one of the greatest baseball players of all time obviously means that you would play baseball. Especially since you and your dad would go to the Met's game in the city growing up. This is a story about a girl and her step- brother meeting 8 boys that would change their lives forever.
