Over the course of a school year, he and other students awaken to a special power, becoming a group of secret vigilantes known as the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. They explore the Metaverse, a supernatural realm born from humanity's subconscious desires, to steal malevolent intent from the hearts of adults and change their hearts.

After everything we've done" the figure said "Keep out of this Cole" Ren replied before trying to strike again and the person known as Cole teleported a distance away again. "You know I can't do that Ren, we've faced death more times than we can count but.....what is your reason for doing this?" Cole said before appearing a distance behind Ren after Ren tried to strike again. "Fine. Don't tell me." Cole said, Ren then replied "We both know you can't win this fight" He summons Arsene and tries to use Eigaon but still misses because Cole teleported. "Yeah, you're right, my abilities are weak" Cole the teleports again a farther distance away.
