In the beautiful place called La Tranchera, everyone knows the name Flames Hadrian Gonzalez Alcatraz. Hadi is feared by many. He was born to lead, born to fight, and born to be strong. His eyes are cold, his presence is heavy, and his past is dark. People say he is like hell itself-full of anger, fire, and darkness. He does not show kindness, and he does not believe in light. Still, many are drawn to him, even when they know how dangerous he is. Then there is Zareenah Riz Gaia Velarde Chavez, called Zaire. She is beautiful, popular, and full of life. She gets bored easily and does not like to hold on to things for too long. Zaire has known Hadi since childhood because of family and friendship. She is close to the group Exodus and can deal with everyone-except Hadi. Zaire sees the pain behind Hadi's cold heart. She knows he has been through hell, but she cannot accept that he chose to become hell himself. Even though he pushes her away, she stays. She controls her temper, holds onto her patience, and tries to bring light into his dark world. But darkness is strong, and light is fragile. Will Zaire be able to change Hadi? Or will the darkness pull her in instead?

Then one day the ride gets unexpectedly bumpy when the Governor's son shows up in Ian and Zaire's stable: and there's only one reason for Levi Caldwell to be sneaking through the stables. Desertion. What will happen when Levi runs off with one of his father's horses? Or when one of the boys is found holding a bloody knife over the body of his master?
