Zaniyah: The Glam Rockstar Hero is a 2005 American animated musical superhero comedy film produced by Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies, in association with DiC Entertainment. Created by Genndy Tartakovsky, written by Mark Dindal, and directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, the film follows Zaniyah Chizo (voiced by Mae Whitman), a 14-year-old girl from Denver, Colorado, whose ordinary life changes forever when she discovers a mysterious glowing meteor in her school's janitor's closet. Upon touching it, Zaniyah transforms into the Blue Rockstar Princess-a superhero with a magical electric star-shaped guitar, the ability to fly, laser vision, and the power to channel music into pure energy. With the help of her loyal best friends-the Rainbow Rebellion (Kristine, Mercedes, Sabrina, Darcy, and Julie)-and her cyan wizard mentor Roz Razzle from the neon-drenched dimension of Rock Mix City, Zaniyah must master her newfound powers while navigating the challenges of eighth grade. But when her rival Britney Gallagher (voiced by Kaley Cuoco) discovers the cursed Obsidian Crown and accidentally awakens the ancient and terrifying Obsidian King (voiced by Brad Garrett), Zaniyah must rise to become the hero she was destined to be.
