But the three Main Leaders of the Bearers of the Mark, known as the crown, have been disrupted bringing their world into chaos. Tessa and her partner in crime, Jamie, arrive in a new town, planning on a short stay, but their plans are interrupted by a strange trio takes a great, unexplainable interest in them. Thalia, a Bearer of the Mark and a Leader of a Koet, Is the head of a rebellion against the crown. She is looking for support and numbers, even if it is unwilling. She and 2 other members of her Koet have been searching the unmarked, regular human population for someone who posses enough power to be able to withstand the Mark. She thinks she has found the perfect first mark when she meets Tessa.
