Our main character, she is a Caretaker. Her job is to care for the Lions, help choose who shall ride them, and so on. Zarkon had taken her in, deeming her useful and ordering her to care for the Red Lion as they search for the rest. Zarkon's forces are constantly being attacked and she's starting to fear for her safety, especially since she knows where the Red Lion is due to their connection (she will eventually have a connection with all the Lions).
