This whole town thinks I'm a freak. They whisper things behind my back, though I always hear them. 'stay away from her, she's insane' 'oh look, here comes the basket case'. Whenever I walk down the street people always give me a wide berth. No one even wants to come near me. It's not like I'll hurt them, that's the last thing I want to do. I just want to be accepted. But ever since that day, I've been an outcast. All because I'm different. Because I can see what they can't. I never asked for this "gift", this curse. I never asked for the sight. I never asked to see them. The ghosts.

Reese Miles, a 19 year old high school graduate with a free spirit and an affinity for the moon. Layla Harrington, a totally predictable 18 year old girl, who has a taste in life for all things sunny and warm. Reese and Layla in most ways are quite opposite. They don't know how to explain it, but it works. As it has for pretty well their entire childhood as best friends. Although opposites, they have many things in common, the most important being their shared love of a particular boyband. As they exit high school, and are thrown into the clutches of the world, adulthood, and all it's big choices, they never expected their lives would come to a halt the night they entered a packed nightclub.

"Sorry, can you move out of the way, thanks?" Zayn turned to see a tanned girl, binoculars lazily hanging around her neck and a yellow and red cap almost slipping off her head. "I'm kinda trying to make sure no one drowns." -~<!>~- Zayn Malik and his best friend Harry move to Sydney, Australia for university. Moving to Australia, the country with some of the world's most beautiful beaches, there's no doubt they'd venture to the gorgeous banks of Bondi. But accidentally pissing off a lifeguard doesn't help start a great year. Delaney Griffiths was a sweet and bubbly girl before her nasty break up. Her trust in anyone is very little since then. Zayn wants to be the one to break her shell. After weeks of trying, Zayn desperately tries to convince himself that Delaney Griffiths is not worth the chase. But, if that was so, why would he apply to be a lifeguard when he can't even swim? ☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️ Kinda sorta inspired by that one Spongebob episode :-)
