This book is a compilation of short stories that depict the lives of black people who have in one way or the other been affected by racism and police brutality and it was inspired by stories of people who have actually experienced the aforementioned. Read to go on a rollercoaster of emotions

No offence though" he said and let out an awkward laugh He didn't sound very convincing to me and I felt like the last part was unnecessary but I shrugged it off and joined in the awkward laughter. He's the life of every party; handsome, fun, and charismatic but he has some douchebag tendencies. She's straightforward, gentle, loving and a tad bit spontaneous She's a religious Christian and he's an audio Christian He's her boss's son She's his maid They don't see eye to eye in most circumstances and blow hot and cold at each other but with a bit of help from YOUTUBE and overzealous fans, sparks might actually begin to fly.

I don't know what it was about her but when our eyes locked I felt the overwhelming need to defend and protect her from the harsh realities of the world. Her warm brown eyes which were glazed with unshed tears pulled on my heartstrings and that feeling was foreign to me. When I glanced back at her retreating form, she looked drained and not just from the previous incident but from life itself. Meet Ijeoma Ezenwa A full blooded Nigerian girl with a lot of problems on her plate. Being a single parent, she spends most of her time working to put food on the plates of that of her and her daughter. All she wants is to keep her child safe and survive the atrocities of life.
