I hear them mutter, "stupid Dauntless soldiers. Why is this my job, taking them to David?"' EXCERPT FROM TRIS' POV: 'Mom?" I say, softly, and she embraces me. But this time it is not a tug towards death, but rather the opposite. A string to life. "Beatrice," she says, and I break from the hug. "I just wanted to say to you that I am so proud of you, Beatrice. You are strong, brave, intelligent, and beautiful. I can tell you are going to have a great future with Tobias." Then she says to me what she said to me a month ago, an hour before I had met Tobias/Four, and exactly 50 minutes before I had met Christina. "I love you. No matter what." My arms wrap around her again, and we embrace until she fades, and I get back into reality. But before I fall out of the dream I say "I love you, too, Mom. I always will."'

I am taking this story over from tempstarabsinthe27. Basically this story is about one stupid phone call that changes everything for Tris Pedrad.

Uriah's twin sister is an unknown. Nobody even knew she existed, but that was only because she didn't have powers. Or did she. After an annoying prank, that turns into so much more, Melanie discovers her powers. They are dangerous and wonderful, which of course means that she has to transfer schools. First day of school, I, Tris Pedrad, walk in, blending in with everyone. Then, I accidently bump into Four, the most popular guy in school. Shauna is shot in the back. The bullet hits her spinal cord. She is diagnosed with paraplegia - paralysis from the waist down. Her world falls apart. And she's not sure if she can ever make the pieces fit together again. This is a special story for International Spinal Cord Injury Day. This time, it's NOT a one-shot, instead, it will be a short story, spanning six chapters. And this time, I dedicate it to the people out there who have to live with spinal cord injuries. They're some of the strongest of us all.
