"It's not up to you and me, when everyone tells us what we can be."
"But what if we rewrite the stars? So I can make you mine."
Tartaglia (Childe), once the shining star of his school's dance team, was known for his flawless performances and the ability to balance his studies. Dancing wasn't just a hobby to him, it was his identity, his escape, his rhythm in life. However, when the pandemic hits, the stage light dims. Without competitions or rehearsals, Tartaglia finds himself slipping into apathy. The boy who once thrived in movement now wastes away in stillness, consumed by gaming, missed assignments and now a growing distance from his former self.
In a moment of loneliness, Tartaglia joins an online gaming community in hopes of connecting with someone who understands. There, he meets Zhongli, a mysterious and eloquent student from another state. Zhongli, though similarly isolated, has responded to the pandemic differently by maintaining his discipline, composition, but quietly carrying his own emotional burdens.
Their friendship blossoms across loading screens and late-night calls. They share frustrations, memories of who they used to be, and dreams for a future that now feels uncertain. As their connection deepens, so do their feelings. But what begins as digital comfort turns complicated as the world slowly reopens, and reality starts to demand choices.
Tartaglia wants to dance again, but his body is out of sync, and his mind is filled with doubt. Zhongli encourages him, but hides his own fears about their bond will end along with the pandemic. And when their schools plan to return normal activities, distance, expectations, and unspoken emotions threaten to pull them apart.
Can they overcome what is between them? Or is leaving each other the best outcome for both?
