Niall has grown up in the Light pack watching as everyone older then him finds their mate and grows so happy with him and their unbreakable bond. But Niall is extremely nervous to find his mate even though he does feel a part of him is missing. Two cousins move to Oregon where they are to join the Light pack after their pack started receiving threats to murder anyone that is supposed to find their mate soon. Their pack has decided to send their teenagers ages 16,17 and 18 to different packs across the world.

Louis was diagnosed with lung cancer at age 18. He was hospitalized, and unable to be with his parents due to his radioactive state. They stopped visiting him, assuming he would be dead when they stopped asking for Mr. Tomlinson's credit card. He was pretty much taken in by his nurse, Harry Styles. A few days after being treated for his radioactivity, he was sent home. Not to his parents, but to Harrys.
