Perona tiene un estilo extravagante, que para algunos podría ser excesivo y fastidioso. En su infancia tal vez se avergonzaría de eso, pero ahora lo abraza, lo exhibe felizmente. Por eso está tan orgullosa de su Boutique, su paraíso, el establecimiento donde expresa todo su ser, con miras a ser la mejor diseñadora. Lo único que le disgustaba del negocio era el vecino que tenía: el Taller Mecánico de Eustass Kid, quien siempre la molestaba con sus estúpidas bromas y su odiosa mirada. Ella no imaginaba que para Kid ese taller también es un paraíso, donde muestra con orgullo sus cicatrices, aquello que lo hace quien es. Cuando el gobierno llega con una Orden de Desalojo, con el fin de apropiarse de todos los edificios de la calle y construir una nueva sede de "Laboratorios Punk" en su lugar, Perona y Kid tienen que unir fuerzas para salvar sus lugares sagrados.
