The year is 1986. 23-year-old Michelle Bradbury is struggling to make it through the decade alive as she watches the world as she knows it crumble into ruin. Dear Journal, It's nearing the one hundredth day of our survival. Not sure how long we'll make it but I know as long as were together, we'll be ok. We came across a clean building today, not sure how long it's been deserted but it was well kept. Goodnight. Sydney. I heard a groan as I closed my Journal, rolling my eyes I turn my head to see Sam staring at me. "What shithead." I snarl, as he scoffs. "Still writing in that dumb-ass journal?" My mom was watching us that day, she practically sprinted out the door hollering like a psychopath. She kept us alive as the world turned to shit. Now she's buried at some place we used to call home. Escaping the dead as been like a fight through hell. Sam always likes to tell me it's just getting started, but it's been about five years since the first outbreak started. Now we have no means of Radio, Electricity, or Running Water.. It's like the world just shut down. I knew the Jones twins were on to something when they did all of that studying for the end of the world, like how to fix up solar panels, or start a fire without.. well, fire starter. Hayleigh isn't your average, run of the mill, kind of girl. She's top of the heap. The cherry on top of the Sundae. At least she had been, before the Zombie apocalypse hit. Her elevated social standing at Beverly Hills High, the best clothes, a great CV on her college application, matter less in this new world, and she doesn't like it. Not at all. Desperate to get back her old life in this new, Zombiefied world, Hayleigh leaves the safety of her underground bunker in search of others she can dominate. Others who will, once again, worship her, as only she deserves to be worshiped. Ezekiel, or Z, as he's called, has a problem. Ok, a slew of problems, truth be told. Least of which is the fact he's a Zombie. A high functioning Zombie, for sure, but a Zombie nonetheless. He was alive - then he died - then he came back life. To his way of thinking, that qualifies him as alive as anyone. Unfortunately, some disagree. And their disagreement is backed by guns, machetes, and a variety of weapons, all of which have the sole purpose of making sure he dies again. This time for good. Added to that, he's doing his best not to eat people. At least not the ones he likes at any rate. All he wants is to lead the group of survivors safely out of LA, with his flesh eating Zombie brothers and sisters on one side, and chainsaw wielding gangs on the other. When Hayleigh and Z's paths cross, their lives are forever changed. Will he dominate her, or she, him? Only one of them can be the leader. The question is, which one will it be? It's a battle for supremacy in this post-apocalyptic world.
