Book 3 in the in To Be A Runner series. If you have not read books 1 and 2, I seriously suggest you do that before continuing or you will be really confused. Missing friends, a new enemy, a secretive company, and many new discoveries. Yep, that sounds about right. It's been four months since some of the Abel residents left our walls, and in our search, we've been fruitless. Until now. With the help of a new friend, we discover more about Diana and Comansys, and what's happened to our people. That's the main priority-finding our friends, finding Maxine, finding Caleb. Turns out there's a lot more about the apocalypse and how it started. There's more than we could have ever imagined. Each new clue leads to another story-another piece of the puzzle. I can only hope we figure it out before it's too late. Because there are bad people out there, and sometimes we have to play by their rules instead of our own. And I'm merely a pawn in this game of chess-a pawn that every player of the game wants to either kill or own. New friends, old friends, new discoveries, and pain. So much pain. And yet... so much joy. So much joy doing the things I never thought I'd do... And I can't help but hate myself for feeling so good about doing such horrible things. When jealousy can make you do anything. By anything I mean ANYTHING.

Based on the events of the game Zombies, Run! Leila was assisting in the delivery of some crucial supplies to Abel Township when her chopper was shot down by some loon with a rocket launcher. You think humans would stick together during the zombocalypse, but apparently that wasn't the case. Leila's got a mission, a one word mission: Run.

I do not know which brilliantly talented fan made the cover photo but it is not my artwork. Zombies Run! Is the most addicting story I have ever experienced. Nothing compares to being a part of the story itself and I began to run relentlessly just to enjoy more adventures. However, as I was unused to that level of near death experiences, I ended up injuring myself and was unable to continue for a while. In order to keep myself sane, I decided to write a spin off as I was recovering. Just as in the app, it is written where the listener is Runner 5. I kept the injury ambiguous so that it could work with a variety of runner injuries. To the best of my ability I copied Six to Start's writing style and stayed within the early portions of season 1. I know how passionate we runners 5 are about spoilers and so I promise no spoilers but there will be disguised hints to later episodes. If you are early on, nothing will be spoiled if you are later in the seasons, you will find "hints" to make you smile.

I will be chronicling my own version of Zombies, Run. My Runner 5 ran away from Mullins Base in search for a safe refuge from the people who know her secret. She snuck onto the Supply Run cargo plane that's supposed to go to Abel Township. The plane gets blasted out of the sky and Alex Carter, you know her as the heroic Runner 5, has to try to survive in this new world. She meets Sam Yao and the other members of Abel and tries to keep her secret by telling little white lies to them. But, as we all know, little white lies become bigger as Alex's past comes to haunt her. Will she be able to handle the consequences of running away? Or will it harm those who she begun to trust and protect around her? CAUTION: This story has themes which may not be suited for young readers. Will contain strong themes of blood, gore, zombie apocalypse general stuff, etc. etc. Read at your own risk. This is as I'm going through the runs. I wanted to put the stakes a bit higher for Runner 5. Hope you enjoy my version of the story. Don't know if you consider this an AU (Alternate Universe) story or not. I will stop at nothing to find out answers, but there's one thing I have to remember... Not all of us will make it out alive, and not all of us will make it out... unharmed. New friends, traitors, deaths, experimentations-all of it. It's all something I'm going to have to face, and I can only hope that I'll be able to survive it. An expectant mother, a shady government worker, an unexpected visitor, and the search for a cure. Yep, that sounds about right. It's been almost nine months since the world was saved from eternal happiness, but the world is still in danger. The dead still walk and we are still far from finding a cure. But we are still discovering new things. Veronica's hard at work, and with Abel teaming up with the Ministry nothing should be able to stop us. At least, that's what I thought. But there are things we still don't understand, things I'm not sure I want to understand, like the voices in my head, like the zombies that can almost talk and are what Veronica likes to call 'Sentient Type Zombies'. There are things that I'm facing that I'd rather just forget-things I'd rather not know about... But I can't be that way. I can't back down-not from the A.M.T.B., not from the voices in my head, and not from the overwhelming feelings that clog my throat and make it almost impossible to breathe whenever I see- No, feelings are not important now, not when a cure is available, not when he's busy worrying about his baby that's due to arrive and the fact that Paula's getting sicker and... I'm getting off topic. It's time for me to step up once again. My job as a runner is never done. Now it's time for me to step up and be a hero. Disclaimer-I do not own Zombies, Run! A secret unknown mission, a shot down helicopter, a guilt-ridden heart, and no name. Yep, that sounds just about right. I came to Abel Township for one reason only, but after the unfortunate event of my helicopter being shot down by a rocket launcher of all things, I'm apparently going to be staying here a lot longer than planned. Because of it, I'm going to have to play nice in order to survive, which is a lot harder than it seems. Everyone carries a burden with them, me included. I'm a runner, and until I leave this pathetic little settlement I'm going to do my job, and run. But one of the things I'm learning it that nothing is ever as it seems. Each piece of the puzzle brings another question, another addition to the story shrouded in mystery and dripping with sinister intent. Maybe this settlement is as pathetic as I thought it was. Maybe my helicopter was shot down for a reason. I cannot wait around for an answer. I learned that long ago. Now deemed Runner Five, I have decided I will do what I have to do to find out every mystery here in Abel Township. And I'm going to start with my actual mission. What is Project Greenshoot...
