I'm not the first one to write about speculative zoology, I was inspired by many books and tv shows which introduced the idea to me. Those which helped me the most with this project were H.G. Wells' Time Machine and Dougal Dixon's After Man. As well, I should mention the documentary style tv episodes The Future is Wild. With all these sources I was able to finally come up with my own story: Fifty Million Years from Now.

Mory lives in a world where everyone was born with their own special set of powers from a certain animal. On the day of his graduation from the Bird Land Academy, insect warriors sneak into his homeland and carry out a surprise attack that kills his father and triggers a massive war. An infuriated Mory leaves home and dives right into the war so he can get revenge against his father's murderers.

It's bug lore, ant mythology, spec myth, a love letter to a people who never existed. There's Skith, who climbed. Akkis, who ran. The two-tandem of Sett and Tattik. Rika, who went downward, and who dueled in the Serpent-Tunnel. The Small Colony, the Four Tree Colony, the tumult of Our Mound where no Queen lives, and the great labors of the Gods Inside.

Benny always wanted to be a zoologist. He then meets Audrey. the love his life. Audrey prefers Benny to be a celebrity, rather than be a zoologist, a dream he's been wishing for years. They then go to Joe's Forbidden Library, and he has to choose a path of who he really is. Joe offers him two books. He either chooses to be a celebrity and be with Audrey or to be a zoologist and explore a certain part of the zoo area, the Forbidden Jungle. The jungle wants him there. He was born to be there. Benny is on a expedition to find his true self in either a very dangerous area, or be an attractive celebrity. Will he choose to be with the love of his life or miss out on the opportunity of a once in a lifetime experience?

Jamie was born into a loving family with a father, a mother, and a little sister. What's left of the family takes a fun trip to the zoo, what a great way to become closer to your mother after the loss of your father, or so Jamie thought until she realizes the trip did not bring them closer but put them further apart. The adventure of being in a zoo, the love Jamie discovers, the trust that's built, and the lesson to appreciate what you've got but as well as the devastating truth about how life can be cruel sometimes is what Jamie learns with a boy and her new found family.
