Hiro and Zero Two are gone now and the rest of the remaining parasites have realized that they are never coming back. Determined to leave a legacy, Zorome and Miku eventually decide to be teachers together and to take on the world in a way they would've never thought possible during their life as parasites. However, their path to teaching the new generation will be full of challenges they've never faced. Still young themselves, Zorome and Miku still have a lot to learn about the world they live in, especially as their new society begins to form.

In this AU, Papa and the Adults never came back for Planation 13, believing that it would only be a hindrance to their plans. Interaction with the plantation was banned. This left the children to have to provide for themselves. After Zorome spends a while talking to Zero Two, he finally finds out what the meaning of the word love is and realizes why she is so close to Hiro. He also realizes that is exactly how he feels about Miku, his FranXX partner. Unsure if he is supposed to say anything, Zorome silently dwells on the feelings that are flowing through him whenever he thinks about the red-headed girl while she is oblivious to how he feels. One day, however, Miku gets very sick, and Zorome struggles to deal with watching her suffer. He also struggles on whether or not he should tell her how he feels or keep her in the dark about it...
