Rather than Luffy finding out about her, Zoro is the one who tries to find her after a small talk with her and strange stories Robin heard in town. Soon it becomes clear that under the hard aggressive shell of this devil fruit user hides something different and dark. Amie's life has never been easy and she tries her best to keep it hidden from the rest and inevitably tries to push them away in the process, but after some weird, dangerous adventures, some personal questions and one mental breakdown, Zoro promises himself that he will help her get back on her own feet, without having to fear every single move she makes. Yumiko was not weak, she knew what she wanted and what she felt, she didn't hide her feelings nor did she try to be sneaky with them; she was awful at keeping secrets and an enabler to the Great Captain Usopp and all of his lies. Zoro didn't care; he still loved her. She didn't care about his faults either, she refused to deny her love for him. It's a shame that her love barely had a chance to be felt by the swordsman before it was taken away from him.
