In February of 2017, my world turned upside down as I found out I had encephalitis. The kind of encephalitis I had involves a viral attack on the brain which can lead to anything from memory loss to loss of mobility to even death. Spoiler Alert: I didn't die. This is my story.

Hey, I wanted to stray from a fiction story for a moment and share a bit of a journal. This is the story of an experience that started with a pain in my eye and grew into a viral infection in my brain. This is the story of my brain on fire.
