Travelling by oneself is challenging, even more so as an outlaw. No one knows this better than Keya, a wandering nobody with a dangerous secret. That's why she, along with thousands of other refugees, aims to head over to the safest city in the Earth Kingdom: Ba Sing Se. However, her path to safety is diverged when she comes across a moody stranger with 'trouble' written all over him. Follow as love blossoms in the dark times of war. Set in book 2 & 3 of Avatar: The Last Airbender. (TRIGGER WARNING: Mentions of violence, war, trauma responses, and the like.)

Kya, Sokka's twin and Katara's older sister sets off on a journey through the Earth Kingdom with Zuko and Iroh in hopes of being able to spark a change in the world, even if on the outside it may be a small insignificant one. As she struggles to choose between her logic and her emotions, Kya learns more of herself past the calm, and expressionless person she once was not to long ago, and along the way she discovers a sense of happiness she never felt before, a feeling she couldn't understand. But what if that happiness came at a price you weren't prepared to pay? ----- I do not own Avatar the Last Airbender or the story and it's characters that come along with it. I just own Kya and the changed I've made to the original story. Credits all go to the amazing creators and artists. A lot has been happening since Katara and Sokka found Aang in the ice. Now on their way into the earth kingdom to find an Earth bending teacher for Aang the group are confident that they will be able to face anything and anyone in their way without anyone else unless it's Aang's teacher. But when the avatar has a vision of a mysterious man with two feline creatures in the swamp and then finds him in real life Aang suddenly and quickly forgets how kidnapping is illegal. ~~~ Lance and Keith are definitely doing something that is totally illegal. They should know they made the rules, but when they come across a planet that has alien life that looks and acts exactly like humans of earth who were they to resist the temptation to blend in with a undiscovered alien civilisation? How were they supposed to know this world had magic people who could control elements with their mind? And what the heck was the avatar? Oh and there was a centuries long war going on? Eh better than a ten thousand year one. AKA Lance gets kidnapped by a bunch of kids and decides magical powers/destined saviours or not they need adult supervision. AKA Keith gets stuck with a angsty prince and his tea loving uncle and goes through hell just trying to find Lance, make sure they don't die, and resist the urge to commit manslaughter or homicide. He succeeds at most of that stuff (Set a year and a half after Voltron ends)

The two embark on the journey to capture the Avatar, however along the way best friends just might become lovers but will focusing on the Avatar ruin the chance at happiness? Or will all of his focus goes to the one girl he calls home?

Ash, the OC in this story, has been blinded. Due to the in story explanation, one of her main character motivations is to find a way to heal herself and regain her vision. The chapters for the episodes "The Storm" and "The Blue Spirit" have been swapped to better serve the narrative. Our protagonist Ash is seventeen, and Zuko has been aged up to be eighteen. Some timeline things have been moved to reflect this. Kya's death, Lu Ten's death, and Zuko's banishment all happen two years before they did in canon. The Fire Nation ship at the South Pole was also stranded much later in this story. I don't own Avatar the Last Airbender or any of it's characters/ideas.
