After the 100-year war ended, everyone thought things would settle peacefully, and restoration would be challenging, but a good process. But for Katara, her life is anything but peaceful. After beginning her relationship with Aang after the war ended, she thought her life would be bliss as they worked together to maintain peace in the world. But she was wrong. Over time, her input grew less important, her impact wasn't needed, and people brushed her to the side and labeled her the "Avatar's girl." Her legacy and impact of what part she played in the role was already being diminished. The worst part? Aang was completely fine with it. Caught in a mental turmoil, Katara agrees to be sent to the Fire Nation to help settle a small dispute that erupted between the Southern Water Tribe and the Fire Nation. There, she sees Zuko, now Fire Lord Zuko, whom she had only seen sporadically since their fight against Azula. At first, she believes he feels the same about her that the others do, but Katara quickly realizes that his life as Fire Lord has been far from easy, and he's been fighting his own solitary battles. The two reignite their old friendship, but as their friendship kindles, an unresolved spark that never faded from their past threatens to surface once more. This ship has single-handedly made me rise from the dead of my fanfic days to write a fanfic about these two. Jeez.

It has been 10 years since the end of The Hundred Year War, ten years since Aang left her. Katara now finds herself in an unlikely pair with a melancholy Fire Lord while navigating life in Republic City. Excerpt: "Zuko stop!" she begged. He did not, he continued to nudge and press for an answer. Katara began to feel like the floor was slipping from under her. The room was no longer still and she was growing increasingly dizzy. She grabbed on to a column to steady herself. Zuko rushed to her side, bracing her against his warm body. Their eyes met briefly and Zuko found the answer he had been searching for.

A series of loosely interconnected one shots inspired by different writing prompts.

When Aang was shot down and claimed to be dead... Another had fallen and was also claimed dead, accept he was really dead. Prince zuko. When the gaang finds out the tragic death of the prince of the fire nations murder they almost seem to feel it's unreal, the boy that have hunted them will never bother them again... They all feel different about it, guilt, confused, even the thought of zuko not deserving it, but also anger yet relief... That's until one of them runs into the blue spirit and finds out a dark secret that only one other knows of. "Zuko?"

After Ba Sing Se, Zuko has a change of heart and fakes his death. He travels saving Fire Nation villages as the Blue Spirit. On one of his travels he encounters the Painted Lady. The two, both believed to be dead, now work together to save the nation from the inside. Romance blooms but danger causes Katara to run, with two extra packages. 15 years later and an unlikely encounter on Ember Island causes a whole lot of drama. OR Zuko becomes competent at handling angsty teenagers and realises... he's becoming his uncle.

After Ba Sing Se Katara hated Zuko right? What if Katara and Zuko formed an alligance without anyone knowing and made it seem like Zuko betrayed Katara? What if they both snuck out as spirits to exchange information? What if Zuko was late to the meeting point on the Day of Black Sun? What if Toph decided to get these two dense friends together after sensing their emotions. Read to find out!

Aang didn't manage to get back Katara's necklace from Zuko. He hates it. He wanted Katara happy. He wanted Katara. But things don't look good for him in the romance department. Katara doesn't seem interested most of the time. Whenever Aang manages to have a mildly romantic moment with her, she comes back to mom friend attitude straight after. He doesn't lose hope though. As Sokka said, the key part to hold another person interested is to act like you don't care. Maybe that's what Katara is doing? Zuko still has the necklace. He keeps it a secret from everybody, even uncle Iroh. He holds on to it whenever things go bad for him. He thinks about it nonstop, he's paranoid that someone might find it. Although he likes keeping the necklace to himself, he wants to return it to the rightful owner. When she stops hating him, maybe? Meanwhile Katara sticks to not wearing any necklace. Although from time to time Aang tries to give her another one, she never accepts them. She doesn't like the reason why her little brother is constantly trying to give her a substitute for the necklace she lost. Because from time to time, she still thinks about her old necklace and the person who is currenlty owning it.

In the ensuing weeks after the end of the war, and the coronation of Fire Lord Zuko, the Avatar has many places to be to reconcile the damages, and Katara stays behind to fully heal her newly scarred hero.

How are you supposed to move forward when you can't stop regretting your past? Everyone walked away from the Battle of The Sun & The Moon a different person than they were before. With no time to mourn the loss of Princess Yue the team sets their sights on the Earth Kingdom; Aang needing to master earthbending and the Earth King's support vital to win the war. There the Avatar struggles with the stubborn element while the Akira struggles with her own inner turmoil. Free to make her own choices for the first time ever, Aelita finds herself in a near-constant battle with her inner demons. The life she once knew is long gone and the girl she once was has slowly been dying ever since that fateful night in Spirit Oasis. Shukaku said she and Aang would know when the world needed a warrior or a pacifist, but the signs are far from easy to read. But Aelita Kensin isn't the only one with demons. Walking away from the girl that used to be his peace and seeing his throne slip from his fingers has left Zuko resentful and hurt. If this was his rock bottom, he wasn't sure there was any climbing up. With fire quickly breathing down his neck the banished Prince must decide who he wants to be before the choice is made for him. Everything the Fire Lord worked so hard for was steadily being destroyed by a little girl. Zutara happens!!! Here is my version of what the rest of the Avatar the Last Airbender would look like if Zutara actually happened. I start from the Agni Kai between Azula and Zuko and we just go from there. I just want to add, I made the effects of Zuko's lightning wound a lot worse than they were portrayed in the show, since I feel like, even though he did get healed by Katara, his reactions and recovery time were very unrealistic (that's probably just me though). I also came up with some new concepts that have to do with Chi and the Spirit World, so hopefully they work with the story and the rest of the Avatar Universe. Katara regrets being with everything. Seven years after the war ended, Katara is the fire lady of the Fire Nation. She finds however she's miserable. She recounts the experiences that brought her to the present, while also deciding the fate of her future, that will determine who she ends up with AU: what if Katara married Zuko? How could two lost lovers find their way back to each other The book will constantly shift from Kataras point of view from age 16 to 21, shifting her perspective of how things turned out, and what she's going to do about it.
