When Aang was shot down and claimed to be dead... Another had fallen and was also claimed dead, accept he was really dead. Prince zuko. When the gaang finds out the tragic death of the prince of the fire nations murder they almost seem to feel it's unreal, the boy that have hunted them will never bother them again... They all feel different about it, guilt, confused, even the thought of zuko not deserving it, but also anger yet relief... That's until one of them runs into the blue spirit and finds out a dark secret that only one other knows of. "Zuko?"

It has been 10 years since the end of The Hundred Year War, ten years since Aang left her. Katara now finds herself in an unlikely pair with a melancholy Fire Lord while navigating life in Republic City. Excerpt: "Zuko stop!" she begged. He did not, he continued to nudge and press for an answer. Katara began to feel like the floor was slipping from under her. The room was no longer still and she was growing increasingly dizzy. She grabbed on to a column to steady herself. Zuko rushed to her side, bracing her against his warm body. Their eyes met briefly and Zuko found the answer he had been searching for.

Avatar Aang saves the world but ruins himself in the process. or Katara engages "He who saved the world" but loses herself in the process. - Aged up. when the battle against Ozai takes place Aang is 18, Katara is 20, Zuko is 22.

after the war is over another threat looms over the world, and it's up to the gaang to save it once more. but while they do, love blooms, unexpected love, wholesome love. world-saving love.

I can't be here another minute. People were smiling at me like they had clothes hangers stuck in their mouths. They were all congradulating me on getting a hot new life. Like the massacre I saw from a month ago was nothing I can't be here another minute. The flood of smiling faces was making me nauseous. The constant quick remarks about how loser my foster family was made me mad. Like they didn't mean anything. Like their death was a gladly welcomed event, not a terrible tragedy. I can't be here another minute. The jokes regarding my old life weren't funny. Or brilliant, or smart or even bad. They were disgusting. As if there was something funny about having your whole life explode in your face at six a.m. I can't be here another minute. I have to get out of here.

Her chest heaves. "Stop!" Katara's voice pitches to a shriek. "It's not-" -real. Zuko's teeth dig into his bottom lip, warm copper bursting into the far corners of his mouth. "Why?" (Or: Katara, Aang, Zuko. A tale of love, loss, and love again.)

Since the actor gave Zuko his own secret love confession why not give katara one

While Zuko had gone back home to the fire nation, he still snuck out and continued his ways as "the blue spirit". His rebellious acts against his own nation is around the time "the painted lady" or also known as Katara was helping out the poor, polluted fishing village on the fire nation; that desperately needed her help... Will they collide?

Zuko, son of the uprising and powerful mafia his grandfather had cultivated for him, finds himself entangled with the daughter of the very detective hellbent on taking the family down and avenging his late wife who was killed in their cross-fire when a school project has placed them together. While writing together, they find they are more alike than they thought. And with understanding, breeds the possibility of something more...

When Zuko became part of the Gaang, all Katara could do was wait for the other shoe to drop. This was her way of processing the emotions that came with the addition of the firebender to their group. She didn't know how to express her feelings to him, so she wrote it down in the form of poems instead. *HUGELY inspired by a poem book called The Princess Saves Herself in This One by Amanda Lovelace*

This is for zutara 2024. This will be my first zutara fanfic so it might be pretty bad. So just proceed with caution.
