فِي مَكَانٍ لَا يُشْبِهُ وَطَنَهَا، كَانَت أُوفِيلِيَا تُحَاوِلُ التَّعَوُّدَ عَلَى الغُرْبَةِ... إِلَى أَنْ أَصْبَحَ إِرِيُوس جُزْءًا مِنْهَا. فَتًى بَارِد لَا يَهْتَمُّ بِأَحَد، يَهْرُبُ مِنَ العَالَمِ خَلْفَ شَاشَةِ هَاتِفِهِ، وَفَتَاة تُحِبُّهُ بِصَمْتٍ لِثَلَاثِ سَنَوَات، تُخْفِي غَيْرَتَهَا وَقَلْبَهَا خَلْفَ نَظَرَاتٍ مُرْتَبِكَة. لَكِنْ... مَاذَا لَوْ كَانَ يَرَاهَا أَكْثَرَ مِمَّا تَظُن؟

تبدأ القصة بمراقبة صامتة من "أنجيل" لـ "جون" من خلف زجاج مقهى. هذه البداية تضعنا في جو من "التعلق النفسي" غير المبرر. الحبكة هنا تعتمد على الصدفة التي تتحول إلى مصير، حيث يبتسم جون ويقول "عثرتِ عليّ"، وكأن اللقاء كان مقدراً.
