It's not easy to follow your dreams, her mother had said. But it isn't impossible.
Those are the words that sixteen-year old Mayra repeats to herself as she takes part in a pastry competition in Mumbai. It isn't easy, considering that her single-mother, Paridhi is struggling to pay the bills ever since her divorce, and that her father continues to discourage her and her 'flimsy' dreams. But there is one person in her life who makes it all possible. Her Abbi.
Abhimanyu as always been a mystery to Mayra. Ever since her birth, he has loved her like a father would love his daughter. He had taught her everything that Mayra should have learnt from her father. So when Abhimanyu supports Paridhi and shoulders Mayra's dream, Mayra discovers a whole new side of her Abbi and her mother. Unbeknownst to Mayra, Abhimanyu and Paridhi had once shared a past. Abhimanyu hadn't just been the elder brother of Paridhi's best friend, Ishika. He hadn't just been the shield and the protector of the two little girls. Their relationship had been much more deep and profound than they had understood then. And then certain decisions had altered their lives forever.
Now, years later, as Mayra ventures on her new journey, life brings Abhimanyu and Paridhi together once more. The problem is that years have passed. They're not the same anymore. And yet, something unknown still remains between them.
So while her daughter fights for her space in the competition, Paridhi faces the challenges of building her own identity and rebuilding the dream that once slipped out of her grasp. But will she dare to venture down the path she had once turned away from? Can the dreams of Mayra's future erase the regrets of their past?
