Elena wasn't the only one whose parents died tragically meet Astrid her step dad,mom and older brother were murdered when she was nine years old she was sent to live with her absent father in Mystic falls and grew up with nightmares and seeing her brothers ghost she rarely ever went out side and never really had any friends just her dead brother that is until Elena starts talking to her and becomes a friend of Astrid, shes introduced to the supernatural world and Astrid starts to fall for the big bad wolf.
