The world changes as it starts to snow. A blanket of secrecy and darkness echoes throughout the Four Quarters of The City as the landscape turns white and the masses huddle in their homes. Left wandering is 15-year-old author phenom Bede Jenkins who trudges through the labyrinth city he calls home while clutching a red book. Once upon a time the world was a simple, if lonely, place for Bede before he pulled this book from the hands of a dead man. He wasn't able to control the world around him before. All he wanted to do was write another book, but a dead king and a ridiculously heavy book had to get in the way. With his friend Victoria, Bede starts to retrace the origins of the book only to be trapped into a corner not understanding the power vacuum he's been thrust into. The pincers of influence are squeezing Bede to the extremes as he tries to figure out where to go, whose lying to him, and what the hell to do with this giant red book.
