This is the story of Elena falling in love with Damon after Stefan becomes distant. I sat in front of my fire place, Watching the wood burn slowly and the sparks flying. She appeared all of a sudden in front of me, like some angel of my flickering past. The impression was instant that in the more than 500 years I spent wandering the earth, I'd known her all of my life. That couldn't be true. It was less than a month.
