A long time ago, the world was shaped as an isolated continent all its own. However, only theories of what happened to change it into what it is now exist and they're all different in one way or the other.. Now, the continents shift again but with a twist that could change the fate of the universe itself. Will the remaining people left succumb to the ancient darkness or conquer the world in a new but primal light? What had happened, and is it able to be fixed? Humans may just be the answer to their own prayers. The light never once existed without darkness, or did it? Some one or something has been causing this darkness to clash.

(This story contains extremely sensitive topics) Around 20 years ago, an unknown virus plagued the Earth, one that attacks genetic codes and destroys whatever it infiltrates. Humans, animals, plants, you name it. In order to adapt to this living nightmare, daily routines suffered an overhaul. But even so cities fell, nations were destroyed, countries obliterated by the scourge of war. Humanity driven to the brink of extinction. In a desperate attempt to save the remnants of mankind, "Colonies" were created. Strategically placed in areas the infected are naturally unable to congregate in. For some unknown reason, they disintegrate or break themselves apart in desperate attempts to escape the inside of a Colony. On the flip-side, they often create nests where they're attracted to others of their kind. The motives that result in such behavior have yet to be discovered. These are called "Contamination Zones". Pools of infection that produce genetic amalgams beyond human comprehension. The fuel for nightmares that plague even the strongest of minds. In addition, several of these Colonies and outposts have started to rapidly perish. Dozens of them breached all over the continent. The infected seem to be growing stronger. This world has given Kayden Moss gentle insight into it's offers. It has made him travel from place to place, Colony or not, in order to simply awaken to fight another day. Eventually, at 19 years old, he came across a peculiar Colony named Zamaton, where he's lived ever since. News of the breaches reach the Warden of the Colony, Rhys, who demands measures to ensure everyone's safety start taking effect. Kayden however, is unaware of them, getting summoned into Rhys's office without previous notice. This only occurs for important matters, or for him to receive scolding for his actions. Whatever the case, he's sure the news are sour. Depending on the situation, the breaches might remain away from the Colony. Or so it seems.

In the midst of this snooze-fest they call a town, enters a strange guy. He's like the riddle that nobody bothered to solve, just casually strolling into our lame high school. Who's this guy anyway? And what's he hiding up his sleeve? Secrets? Scandals? Or maybe just a really good playlist from the '90s? ---------- (This book is my very first fanfiction based on the visual novel, Class of 09. Expect errors and deviations from the original characters' personalities. I do not claim ownership of Class of 09 or its characters, which belong to their respective creators. Other media and characters featured in the story also belong to their respective owners. I solely own my original characters and the storyline. The fanfiction will incorporate a mix of events to suit the narrative. Additionally, this fanfic will depart from the canon universe and focus on my original character, who may exhibit traits akin to a "Mary Sue" archetype, albeit in a male form, and will be portrayed as the central figure. It is important to note that this fanfiction will contain mature themes, including but not limited to explicit language, violence, substance abuse, abuse, murder, assault, fraud, self-harm, and other disturbing content. Reader discretion is advised, as these themes may not be suitable for younger audiences or individuals who are sensitive to such material. Swearing will be prevalent throughout the story. If you are familiar with the game, you are already aware of its content. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.)

Humanity is not alone in the universe. More specifically Earth is not alone. It is an age of wonder for humanity. For all but a few. Our history has been altered, according to one who has visions of the fractured world that could have been but never was. The way history would have played out without an intergalactic coalition of humans visiting Earth. And he cannot decide whether the advanced human's arrival is really all that it seems. Whether we would have been better off as things are now, or with how his visions tell him things ought to have been. There are multiple worlds colonized by a vast space faring technologically and biologically enhanced human race all across the galaxy. Earth is just one of many of such colonies. At some point in our forgotten past Earth was cut off from our intergalactic neighbors and decides to fend for herself. Later we lose ourselves to infighting and nationalism instead of being true to our nature of being a space dwelling, intergalactic human cooperative. Now our space cousins are reestablishing contact with Earth. Bringing their superpower enabled, technological mastery of science so advanced as to seem supernatural. Eliminating slavery, wars, crime, diseases, climate shifts, and currency, with their arrival. Offering the promise of entry into a thriving united galactic empire. (I am dropping in from time to time updating the story with fresh ideas as they pop into my head this is so very much a first draft I have not even decided on names for some of the characters or different factions of humans that are to be encountered from beyond our solar system)
