Princess Cassandra Kendall is the only princess of a small country called Neriva. She is going to be queen of Neriva within the year, and she has an arranged marriage to the only prince of Neriva's neighboring country, Relain. She has her entire life planned out for her, and all she wants is freedom from the restraints of being the last monarch of Neriva. Her heart is confused when it comes to men, finding the two men in her life, a prince and a guard, to both be tugging at her heartstrings.
Prince Xavier Windsor is the eldest prince and soon to be king of the neighboring country to Neriva called Relain, and he has an arranged marriage to Cassandra, for their countries to join as one, strong country. Ruled by strict parents, he has little free time to be himself or time to let loose. He simply wants to find someone to love, and he believes that Cassandra is this love.
Guard Nicholas Travers is a guard for Cassandra, ever since she personally appointed him when he saved her life. He is ruled by becoming his best, to do his best for Cassandra. She is his first love though he never told her. As a guard, Nicholas has little time to do anything for himself.
As the day grows closer to the marriage of Cassandra to Xavier, threats from an anonymous person begin to come to the prince and princess, threatening them and their counties. The day of their wedding, the threat becomes reality, forcing these three to go on the run. On the run from who? They don't know. To where? They don't know that either.
