In a future where government has disappeared in the world all together, a small area in what was once known as the Rocky Mountains is said to be a mirror of the past. The clean houses and kind people are a mask to the war raging in the savagelands outside. Dawn Eroney Staerr is struggling to find her place in the world as her branding day comes nearer. When a girl turns seventeen, it is customary for the name of her husband to be branded on the back of the neck. When everything goes wrong, Does Eroney have the strength to pursue her destiny?
