Souji couldn't count how many bookcases there were. It seemed to spiral onward for all of eternity, just like mankind's complicated history. It was ethereal, yet at the same time ominous. His mind thought about what his companion said previously. This was the boy's reality, the preserver and overseer of human potential.

Slender fingers move towards a book on top of the table, brushing over the spine with engraved letters of gold. The boy was definitely not used to human contact. How long was he here?

"...You've failed, haven't you?" he bluntly questioned.
